Five steps from “interested in EO” to “logged in for your first session.” If you get stuck at any point, call us at 208-885-6373 or email eo-support@uidaho.edu.
Admission
Before you can enroll in an EO-delivered course, you must be admitted to the University of Idaho. Pick the path that matches your situation:
- Graduate – pursuing a master’s degree. Apply for graduate admission.
- Undergraduate – seeking a bachelor’s. EO doesn’t deliver a complete bachelor’s online, but we offer many undergrad courses. Apply for undergraduate admission.
- Non-degree – for personal/professional development, transfer credit, or while a graduate application is in process. Apply as non-degree.
- International – additional requirements apply (TOEFL, visa verification, passport for graduate). See international admission requirements.
Registration
Once you’ve received your admission letter and activated your University of Idaho account, you can register through VandalWeb. Register early — graduate-level courses fill, and any course can be canceled if enrollment is too low.
Registering creates a financial obligation to the university. If you’re unsure whether a course is right for you, contact the instructor before you register. Some courses require department permission — check the course description first. Step-by-step: VandalWeb registration instructions.
Tuition and Fees
EO-delivered courses carry a $263-per-credit fee on top of U of I tuition. Non-resident fees do not apply to EO courses. Some courses also have a lab or course fee. Textbooks, software, and proctor/testing-center fees are not included.

Refunds
For a full refund, drop the course by the close of the 10th day of classes (fall/spring) or the 3rd day (summer). Specific dates are on the EO calendar. After that, you owe the non-refunded portion regardless of whether you’ve logged in to the portal or accessed materials. Drop instructions: Office of the Registrar.
University of Idaho Account
After admission, activate your U of I account. The same NetID + password unlocks four systems you’ll use as an EO student:
- EO Portal — every course session is delivered here. Some courses also use Canvas alongside it.
- VandalMail — official U of I email (vandals.uidaho.edu). Required. Faculty and university
offices may only contact you here. - VandalWeb — register, view bills, see grades, update contact info. If you change contact info, also submit a Student Update form so EO has the same data.
- Canvas — supplementary course materials for some EO courses (canvas.uidaho.edu). Check your syllabus to see if your course uses it.

Textbooks and Software
Textbooks are sold through the VandalStore. After registering, you can pull your specific course list automatically through VandalWeb (Student Information / Registration → Textbook Express).
Software requirements vary by course — check the syllabus. Some courses use VLab, U of I’s virtual computer lab, for software access from a distance. PTC Mathcad is available to U of I students at a significant discount through ptc.com/go/uidaho.
